Hi all you Upcyclers!

Today I have the pleasure of sharing a project that was completed by one of my great friends! Kaitee took this children’s style dresser and gave it a new life! Now this dresser, which may have never received a second glance, is now a stunning pice! It’s amazing to me that some paint and beautiful knobs can turn an old item into something that any adult would love to display in their home. And I don’t know if you feel the way I do….but, there aren’t many things I hate more than feeling childish.

I also want to celebrate that the Salvage Seattle movement is spreading! Reclaiming the old and renewing the beauty that has been forgotten, is a fun and invigorating way to recycle! I keep hearing from friends and readers that have started similar DIY projects inspired by my work. And I can’t tell you how much that fuels my fire, and simply puts a big ol’ smile on my face! When Kaitee told me she was upcycling a dresser, she said to me,

“I got a little crafty today, and redid an old dresser. I was like WWKD….What would Kat do??”

Not only did her slogan crack me up, but It was awesome to see that I could inspire some creativity, and get others to step outside of their comfort zones! And for that, I’m truly thankful. Not to mention, I get this warm fuzzy feeling that tells me that what I’m doing has more of a purpose than I even imagined.

So GOOOOOOOO Kaitee!! I’m so proud of you!

Let’s all strive to upcycle something! I know you have an old baby dresser that could use an update, or a toy chest that could be turned into a chic ottoman. And let me know if you do. I want to see pictures!
